As part of National Youth Week’s celebration’s this event included a forum focused on Hip Hop culture and it's contribution to Melbourne's culture. Hip Hop artists and young people in the community were invited to speak and facilitate discussions about Hip Hop culture and how it can create positive outcomes for young people in our community.
Further to the forum performances and a dance party continued into the evening, celebrating young people and their contribution to our community as a whole.

‘She Got Game" was the first International B-Girl event to take place in Australia and was presented by Freestyle Four Entertainment. Complimenting the main event was a forum that focused on the positive involvement of young women in Hip Hop culture and Melbourne’s Youth community. 2008 Freestyle @ Fed Square – Melbourne The 3rd Annual Freestyle @ Fed Square was bigger and better then ever with workshops, comps and battles with more categories engaging a broader range of our Hip Hop community, and performance fusing Hip Hop with traditional cultural performers.
Freestyle Hip Hop celebration – official closing event for Youth Week in Perth.
The inaugural PerthFreestyle Celebrations were launched on the 22nd of April as a formal closing event for National Youth Week. Freestyle @ Fed Square which has taken every February since 2005 in Melbourne attracts crowds of over 8,000 spectators and 150 participants.
‘Reprezent’ youth project – Community Concert and school tour.
The ‘Reprezent’ Youth project involved the participation of young people from four schools in Melbourne’s West. They worked with professional Hip Hop artists to develop performances culminating in a concert tour which went to each school as well as the Footscray Community Art Centre. The concert showcased the many talents and cultural diversity that exists in Melbourne’s west.
