Based in the City of Dandenong, the Sumnation Fusion concert was an event that linked the Sumnation World Cultural Festival with the live telecast of the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony. The Sumnation Fusion concert incorporated new choreographed performances and music based on field recordings with each of the participating groups featured throughout the concert. Peter Mousaferiadis was the creative director. The concert included performances from the following cultural performance groups:
- Poly Dancers (Polynesian dance)
- Philipino Tenekling and Paeser Choir
- Cindy Mu (Chinese fan dancing)
- Rhythms of the Pacific (Pacific dance)
- Rodriguan Dancers (Latin American dance)
- Sinahlese Cultural Group
- Sudanese Equatorians Village (Children’s Chorus)
- Mestiso (Brazilian Samba Drummers)
- Mountain Dancers (Lebanese dancers)
- Hip Hop Dance Crew
- Casey Pipe Band (Scotland).
