‘Generation Why’ was the performance outcome presented at the 2007 Australia Day Voyages Concert at Federation Square for the participants of the Cultural Infusion ‘Free Your Style’ and ‘Creation Stories’ workshop programs. Cultural Infusion facilitated two consecutive workshop sequences: “Creation Stories” and ‘Free Your Style’. Facilitators worked with young people and community organisations to explore the concept of ‘story telling’ and to creatively answer the questions: ‘WHY? Where do we come from? Where are we going?’

Participants focused on the theme of ‘Creation stories’ using traditional cultural art forms such as storytelling, song and dance, while ‘Free your style’ participants use Hip Hop elements such as MCing, Breakdancing and Graffiti Arts to interpret ‘WHY? Where do we come from? Where are we going?’

Cultural Infusion’s ‘Generation Why’ project was supported by various organisations including: City of Melbourne, Besen Family Foundation, School Focused Youth Services (Dandenong) and Canvas Craft.
