Touring directly from Indonesia and back by popular demand, Cultural Infusion is once again proud to present Dalun (master) Shadow Puppeteer – Sumardi.

Give students a wonderful insight into the myths and legends of Indonesian history and culture. Theatrical storytelling brings to life the ancestral spirits said to swell inside the puppets. The climatic scenes are based on Hindu epics, such as the Ramayana Cycle. Students are given an opportunity to watch the shadow puppetry from both sides of the screen to experience the magic as well as learn the skills and techniques behind these ancient art forms. A truly magical experience!

 

Program fee: $5 + gst per student, minimum 140 students

Sumardi also performs for the entire day. His program includes 2 different types of Puppetry, teaching students how to make their own puppet and traditionnal Indonesian dances.

Program fee: $10 + gst per student, minimum 150 students
Duration: approx. from 9 am to 3 pm
