The ‘Reprezent’ program focuses on building face to face relationships between artists and young people, moving away from single sessions of 50 minute sessions, to a long-term Artist in Residence model. The semester long program aims to promote self-confidence and deal with specific issues related to socioeconomic disadvantage, cultural diversity and at-risk behaviour amongst young people by engaging them through the arts. 

Reprezent programs incorporate a range of activities presented and facilitated by professional arts and cultural practitioners, local elders and experienced educators. Teaching methods are lively, interactive and fun with a focus on teamwork, to produce ideas and results which can be used to support coursework.

A ‘Reprezent’ artist-in-residency will enhance your existing school curriculum for: Music, Dance, Theatre, Movement, Event Management, Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Multimedia, English, ESL and VCAL, or can be developed with a performance outcome in mind to showcase your school’s productions, presentations or community events. 

Participation in workshop programs has been proven to increase essential learning skills and instill self confidence in students. 

The Reprezent program aims to engage young people from diverse backgrounds through the arts in order to: • provide an environment within the school where young people can gain self-confidence, connect with their peers and become motivated to participate positively in school life, • encourage their participation in community life, • promote healthy and active lifestyles, • focus on teamwork, to produce ideas and results which can be used to support coursework, and • encourage students to think laterally by working through a creative process.

We offer term/semester-long residencies or can tailor one specifically to your needs and interests. Artists available for our Reprezent residencies include specialists in Hip-Hop dance, Rap, Street Art, African drumming and dance, Bollywood dance, theatre, circus skills, and traditional dance.   

PRICE RANGE: 50 minute workshops start from $440.00 plus GST plus materials with a maximum attendance of 50 students. Residencies start from $3,500 plus GST per term.

Rates for Reprezent Residencies & Workshops will vary, as each program is customised to fit a school’s specific requirements.
