Underground Loop Compilation Launch
Living Music: Cultural Infusion in conjunction with Living Music presented the official launch of the Underground Loop Compilation on the 30th of August 2007 – featuring an array of collaborative tracks produced by young people as part of the Living Music mentorship programs.
The ‘Underground Loop’ Launch took the City of Yarra by storm with a mix of live performances by an array of talented emerging Hip Hop artists all of whom took part in the mentor program and featured on the compilation, plus, local, bboys and bgirls jammin; DJ’s spinnin tunes; and visual artists showcasing their unique skills as part of the days entertainment. The event is a drug, smoke and alcohol free all ages event, so everyone is welcome to come down to the ‘Crom’ and celebrate the achievements of Melbourne’s Youth!
"I have an ambition to succeed in Hip Hop, keen to hook up with someone that knows the industry, who can help me elevate my style and get ahead with my music career,” Mark age 19, says.
"One thing that all these young people share is a passion for Hip Hop," John Favaro of Living Music, says.
“Being part of our FReeZA events team has shown the guys what it takes to get their music out there to the public, and I think they’ve done a fantastic job!” Cat Sweeney, Cultural Infusion’s Youth Projects Coordinator said at the time.
The Underground Loop Project has been funded by Arts Victoria and the Australian Council for the Arts. FReeZA Central is funded by the Department for Victorian Communities.
